Last night, the Millstadt Chamber of Commerce held its annual dinner at Millpond Brewing. Guests were treated to delicious catering by Roy-el Catering as they gathered to celebrate the achievements of our community's most outstanding individuals and businesses. The night was filled with excitement as we announced the Community Person of the Year, Business Persons of the Year, and a new award, the Legacy Award, which recognizes individuals and who have made a lasting impact on our community.
Kelly DeMond Touchette Named 2022 Community Person of the Year
We are thrilled to announce that Kelly DeMond Touchette was named the 2022 Community Person of the Year by the Millstadt Chamber of Commerce. This award recognizes Kelly's dedication to raising awareness and support for autism advocacy in Millstadt & the surrounding communities.
Leading the Charge for Autism Advocacy in Millstadt
Kelly has been a driving force behind the 2022 Millstadt Autism Walk event. Through her passion and dedication, Kelly has helped to bring attention to the needs of individuals and families affected by autism in the Millstadt community. Her efforts have truly made a difference, as evidenced by the success of the first-year event. The 2022 Autism Walk, under Kelly's leadership, raised thousands of dollars and had over 1,000 participants in attendance.
Improvements to Millstadt Parks & Future Plans
The money raised benefited the Millstadt Parks Department directly, allowing the rocket ship slide to be re-painted. Additionally, new playground equipment is set to be added to the park to create more accessible and safe play spaces for children in Millstadt thanks to the money raised at the event.
Atkins’ Acres Education Farm Named 2022 Business Persons of the Year
Local Farm Owners Recognized for Community Involvement and Education
We are thrilled to announce that Atkins’ Acres Education Farm, owned by Kim and Mark Atkins, has been named the 2022 Business Persons of the Year by the Millstadt Chamber of Commerce.
Dedicated to the Millstadt Community
Kim and Mark Atkins acquired the property in 2020 and have been actively involved in the Millstadt community, as well as the surrounding communities. The farm itself serves as a local resource to gain an appreciation for the outdoors, conservation and nature. The farm's owners, Kim and Mark, have big plans for the future, and they are hoping to continue educate more people in the community about these important topics through their farm.
Their commitment to the community and dedication to making Millstadt a better place to live, work, and visit has been recognized by the Millstadt Chamber of Commerce with the award of Business Persons of the Year.
We would like to extend our congratulations to Kim and Mark Atkins, and thank them for their contributions to the Millstadt community. We are looking forward to seeing all the great things they will do in the future.
Legacy Award Introduced & 2022 Winner Roger Geubert
Millstadt Chamber of Commerce introduced a new award at the annual dinner, the Legacy Award. This is awarded to a community person who has continually impacted the community for the better, through support, volunteering, and much more.
The inaugural and 2022 award recepient was Roger Geubert.
